Shariah Advisor


Sheikh Esam Ishaq graduated from McGill University, Canada and currently teaches Fiqh, Tafseer and (Aqeeda) Theology, courses in Islamic Centres supervised by the Ministry of Justice and Islamic Affairs in Bahrain. He is a member of the High Council of ISLAMIC AFFAIRS in the government of Bahrain & recognized as an emerging leader in the discipline of Islamic finance. As well as serving on the Shariah Panel of IIFM, AAOIFI Governance and Ethics Board (AGEB), Sheikh Ishaq also serves on the Shariah Advisory Boards of a number of financial institutions including AlHilal Bank, Seera Bank, Al Baraka Bank, AlMeezan Islamic Bank and a number of Takaful institutions. His other positions currently includes Chairman of Muslim Education Society – Bahrain, Vice Chairman of Discover Islam Centre – Bahrain and member of Technical Committee for Interpretation and Application of Standards, Accounting and Auditing Organization of Islamic Financial Institutions (AAOIFI) - Bahrain. He is very active as an educator.
